Personal Profile I was born and raised in the Bay Area. I'm 17 years old and currently attend Irvington High School in Fremont CA. I am from India and more specifically from the state of Punjab. My family and I follow the religion of Sikhism which orginated in the same area as well. With an immigrant family I grew up learning Punjabi as well as English, so it is good to note I am bilingual and have a strong fluency in both.
Volunteer Experience
The American Red Cross
June 2017 - June 2019
For about 2 years, I have volunteered as a donar ambassador, which is a person who takes care of the clerical aspect of Red Cross blood donation centers. For example, in the past I have checked in people for their appointements and filed away paperwork. Overall I have completed around 25 hours of service with this organization.
The Jakara Movement
October 2018 - Present
This nationwide organization is aimed at educating and empowering the next generation. Some of the examples of volunteer work I have done with them before is voter registation drives, where we would go to a local community center and help indiviudals register to vote for upcoming local, state, or federel elections, in order to allow them to have a larger voice in the community.
The Watershed Project
November 2017 - March 2018
The Watershed Project, is commited to helping protect the Bay Area's local water ways. The activites I have done with them in the past includes a pollution pick up in small rivers and streams, which would prevent that trash from ending up in lakes or larger bodies of water.
